31 Days of Before & After ~ Day 17 “Fresh Paint”

I don’t get to many garage sales and when I do, I’m not typically one to find the “great” treasures I’ve seen some people bring home and blog about. However, a few Saturday’s ago, the mister and I went out for a few hours and hit about 3 garage sales. I found something at all three. 🙂

This is where I say “score”!!!

A vintage sewing drawing in need of some repair…

and some tender loving care…

and some glue…

a fresh coat of paint…

a bit of  hand painted typography

in french no less!

makes all things look

“fresh”

or in this case…

“fraiches”

then I added a couple of rusty handles

distressed the paint

stuffed and fluffed

staged with some lovely green apples

I love it!

Painted in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint * Charcoal

Typography in ASCP * Old White

Antiqued and sealed with ASCP Dark wax

Credit for this fabulous find goes to my adorable oldest daughter.  She had called me as she left my house to tell me that they had passed some garage sales in my neighborhood.

If she hadn’t called…

this post would not have been written!

and I wouldn’t have this lovely vintage sewing drawer to look at and remind me of her.
